ALAN GREGERMAN
During alan gregerman's visit he talked about the important of not only meeting new people but meeting people in uncommon places and having the ability and confidence to spark up conversation with others. One of the things that stressed was that people are so scared to take risk especially when it comes to meeting new people who are different from ourselves. Another thing that alan stated was that "strangers are more important than our friends." that reason being because our friends are most likely going to be like us and that isn't helpful because we need to reach out to people who are different so that they give us different ideas. ALAN ALSO GAVE EXAMPLES ABOUT APPLE AND HOW THEY BUILD ON IDEAS FROM OTHERS, SPECIFICALLY THE IPOD AND HOW THE IDEA OF HAVING A LIBRARY OF DATA CAME FROM EGYPTIANS AND THE IDEA OF PORTABLE MUSIC has already been around long before the iPod, with the Walkman.
TAKEAWAY:
My takeaway from ALAN'S VISIT WAS THAT WE SHOULD STEP OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE AND NOT BE AFRAID TO MEET NEW PEOPLE WHO ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY COULD PROVIDE WITH IDEAS THAT WE WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT BY OURSELVES. ANOTHER TAKEAWAY MESSAGE I GOT FROM ALAN GREGERMAN WAS THE ABILITY TO ASSOCIATE AND MAKE CONNECTIONS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND MOST OF THE GREATEST PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE BUILT ON AN IDEA FROM ANOTHER PERSON AND TAILORING IT TO MAKE IT BETTER.
application:
After ALAN'S VISIT I Became inspired to go out and meet new people, so I went to the library and was able to met and music engineer who agreed to teach me how to mix AND MASTER MY OWN MUSIC. THIS IS PARTICULARLY HELPFUL BECAUSE I AM A MUSIC PRODUCER, YET I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT MIXING MUSIC.
